The Article

"Today we’d like to introduce you to Corinne Miller.

Hi Corinne, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?

I have always had a passion for cooking and baking, ever since I was a little girl. I admired my grandmother’s cooking, and to this day, I strive to recreate the wonderful things she made. Around the age of 25, I developed a keen interest in pastries and artisan baking. What attracted me the most was the art of cake decoration; I find it fascinating. Eventually, I decided to turn my passion into a profession. I opened a small bakery in my home country, which was a dream come true. After some time, I had the opportunity to move to Florida, and I reopened my business in Davie. It has been an incredible journey, and I am grateful for the support from my community here.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

Opening a business is never easy, especially in a new country. One of the main challenges has been getting to know and understand the local preferences, from flavors to customer expectations. Additionally, one of my main principles is to ensure that the cakes not only look good but also taste amazing.

I put a lot of effort into making my cakes stand out in all aspects, which means finding the best ingredients and the best suppliers around my new location. There have been many adjustments along the way, but I’m grateful that the community in Broward County and the surrounding areas has been very welcoming and supportive. Every new customer feels like a friend and family to the business. I often find myself chatting with customers even after their orders are complete, and I’ve made a few new friends who started as customers.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

For better or worse, I am a perfectionist. I have extremely high standards for myself both professionally and personally. When it comes to my cakes and pastries, I treat each order like a work of art. The creation process is meticulous, ensuring every detail—from taste to appearance to packaging—is perfect.

I insist on making my cakes balanced in taste: not too sweet, not bland, but achieving perfect harmony by using only the freshest and highest quality ingredients. What sets Mood 4 Cake apart is its intimate, small-business nature. Every client receives 110% attention. I make it a point to understand what they are celebrating, learn their stories, and work tirelessly to meet their expectations. They trust me, and that trust means the world to me.

I am most proud of the personal connections I build with my clients. It’s not just about making a cake; it’s about building trust and long-lasting relationships. Every cake is a reflection of my dedication and passion, and I am honored to be part of my clients’ special moments.

What makes you happy?

On a personal level, my family makes me happy. The support I get from my amazing husband, who helps with the business and keeps the household running smoothly with the kids while I handle orders, is invaluable. On a professional level, having happy and satisfied customers is the best feeling. When customers write back to compliment my work, it’s incredibly rewarding. Nothing is more important than making your customers happy with their purchase, especially when what you sell is something you create from scratch with love and passion.
